Katherine May Maring, 94
Katherine May Maring, 94, passed away on Sept. 25, 2010,at the Ace Elder Care in Bonners Ferry, Idaho.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Sept. 30, 2010, at 1 p.m. in the Bonners Ferry Funeral home, in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, with interment in the Grandview Cemetery, in Bonners Ferry.
Kay was born on June 28, 1916 in Meeker, Colo., to Frank and Olga Gunnerson Sandberg.
Kay married the love of her life Lou Maring on July 12, 1933, in Golden, Colo. In 1935 they moved from Denver to Westminster where they lived with her mother on a small farm.
Their goal in life was to live on a farm and so, in pursuit of that dream they bought a three-acre farm in Westminster. In 1946, as their family grew, they moved to the outskirts of Westminster on a 20-acre farm. Later in 1952 they purchased a 120-acre farm in Lafayette where they continued to pursue their love of farm life. While in Lafayette, Kay worked at a nursery that grew Carnations.
In 1974 they continued on their dream and bought a farm in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, near 3-Mile junction.
Kay was active in Square Dancing, going to auctions and garage sales. She was an avid member of the Country Women’s Club and the Catholic Church. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
She is survived by Lou Maring and wife Georgie of Bonners Ferry, Idaho; Don Maring and wife Marilyn of Arvada, Colo.; Frank Maring and wife Tracy of Lafayette, Colo.; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
