The Lady Badger volley ball C team traveled to Timberlake to beat Lakeland 2-1 in a Tri tournament Monday.

The scores were 25-17, 24-26 and 15-8. MaKenzie Carle didn’t miss a serve during the game and out of 19 attempts had one ace serve.

Coach Paula Petesch said setters Lexie Jones and MaKenzie Carle did a great job setting up the teams hitters.

The Lady Badgers  also beat Timberlake in two games, 25-22 and 25-20.  A few girls that don't normally serve for the team got a chance.

“Sierra Spangler and she had four nice serves,” said Petesch. “Jessica Watts received seven tough serves and had several tips during the course of the game.”

On Oct. 5, the girls won all three games in the “Dig Pink” tournament. All teams played in pink uniforms recognition of breast cancer awareness.

Desirae Minor played libero and worked very hard during this tournament, according to Petesch.

The team had five miss serves during the three games which according to coach Paula Petesch was quite an accomplishment for this level of play.

The scores were 25-13, 25-21, and 15-11.

Arista Winey was top server with five aces and Makenzie Carle had four.

The  C  team played best out of five matches and lost to Lakeland on Oct. 4.  The match scores were 21-25, 25-17 19-25 and 19-25.

Lexie Jones and Mindy Ahner had four ace serves and Desirae Minor had four kills.

“The girls have just recently learned a new rotation and are playing hard and adjusting well,” said coach Paula Petesch.

The C team record was six wins and six losses and a fourth place finish in a tournament.

“The girls worked very hard this year learning a new rotation, modify their play to include a libero and emerging themselves in the high school volleyball program,” Petesch said. “I'm very proud of them and the way they represented BFHS.”
