The final score of the Badgers vs. Wildcats game in Kellogg Friday was a crushing 76-6, bringing the Badgers to a  2-0 standing in the Intermountain league.

The Badgers had over 500 yards in total offensive play and 484 yards on the ground, according to head coach Ed DePriest.

Taylor Tompke, a senior,  completed his only pass attempt to  junior Ozzie Braff on the Badgers first series. Braff had a total of four touchdowns and 148 on 10 carries.

Senior Alek Lopez added another four touchdowns with 139 on seven carries. Senior Chase Mellon came in with 60 yards on three carries and scored one touchdown for the Badgers.

Taylor Tompke and junior Reed Bennett each had an interception on the defense.

Although the score is impressive and Kellogg was in pretty bad shape Friday, DePriest said the team still needs to improve getting off the ball and moving people on offense.

“Obviously the kids did well against the opponent,” DePriest said. “We played pretty well on defense for the most part.”

DePriest said they will use the game against Libby Friday to prepare for Timberlake on Oct. 22.

“As we are starting to see injuries pile up it is important to get everyone as much experience as possible because we do not have much depth,” said DePriest.

The Homecoming game starts at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 15.
