Eat Spaghetti and Help Cure Cancer

People have the opportunity to get full bellies and do a good deed by attending the American Cancer Society’s annual spaghetti dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 21, at the popular Chic-N-Chop restaurant.

Generously hosted by the Erickson Family for the past 23 years, hundreds of people each year enjoy all-you-can-eat spaghetti, French bread and salad, and choice of coffee, tea, milk or soft drinks.

A tremendous value, the cost is still only $5 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under.  Desserts are available for an additional fee.

The money earned at this dinner doesn’t disappear into an organizational black hole or get shuffled to big cities.

“Most of the money earned at Bonners Ferry’s spaghetti dinner goes to the local American Cancer Society to fund programs in northern Idaho,” says Nicol Barnes, community relationship manager of the American Cancer Society for northern Idaho.

“The monies earned are used for everything from educational materials and outreach programs to research.”

In no small part because of contributions to the American Cancer Society, one out of every two cancer patients now survives the disease, and continued advances in prevention, early detection and treatment promise even great hope for the future.
