Racer leads in scoring

Sophomore Liz Racer of the Lady Badgers soccer team lead in scoring against Priest River at districts  Saturday with the  Badgers winning 5-2.

Liz Racer ‘s first of three game goals came at the second minute of the game. Priest River returned the favor at the seventh minute. 

Lady Badger Amanda Riley a junior, scored the next two goals at the 23rd and 29th minutes. Just seconds before half-time a Priest River player hit their final goal at the 40th minute.

Liz Racer scored a penalty kick at the 46th minute, just to score again at the 54th minute by a perfect Riley to Racer touch pass.

The Lady Badgers had 17 shots on goal while Priest River took 10 shots.  Badger goal keeper junior Hailey Pruitt had eight saves to Priest River’s 10.

The overall winner of the final tournament goes to the State annual 3A playoff, according to coach John Lindberg.

The second place tournament winning team  travels to Lewiston for a “play in” to state game against the district two second place winner.
