Boundary County Assessor Candidates

• David Ryals (R)  Incumbent no district

David Ryals, 57, married with two sons and four grandchildren.

Ryals has lived in Boundary County for 46 years.  He graduated from accounting, business administration school in 1976. 

He has over 18 1/2 years experience as a State of Idaho Certified Ad Valorem Appraiser.  He has been Boundary County’s assessor for 12 years.

“I am seeking election so I may continue to provide fair and equitable property assessments while respecting your property and personal rights,” said Ryals. 

Ryals said he will never access or use the tax payers personal financial information from property sales without the tax payers direct permission. He will not enter posted property without seeking permission. 

“I am born and raised here and have the best interests of  the community as my priority,” Ryals said. “I will use my experience and knowledge to continue to provide the most accurate and equitable valuations possible and I  will continue to keep you informed and I will remain accessible.”

• Jeff Stankiewicz (C) no district

Jeff Stankiewicz, 42, was born and raised in Connecticut and has lived in north Idaho for the past 14 years. He has owned a home in Bonners Ferry for the past ten years.

Stankiewics has worked as a shop fabrication supervisor for Stockdale Steel, Inc., for the last five years, and serves as major of the 21st Battalion of North Idaho’s Lightfoot Militia.

Stankiewicz said the real estate market is volatile and ever changing and it is important for an assessor to know and understand this fact.  He said he will  bring dedication, efficiency, and an open door policy as Boundary County Assessor.

“ I am running for the position to bring fairness and equitable valuation assessments to the property owners in this county,” said Stankiewicz. “I don’t think anyone likes paying property taxes, but when it is necessary the process needs to be done using correct and complete information.”
