What opportunities are available to youth and volunteers in Boundary County on Fridays?

The answer is Explore 4-H Afterschool Fun.

The Explore 4-H Afterschool Fun program will be entering its’ fifth year starting on September 10.   Funding for this program has been made possible through the USDA Children, Youth and Families at Risk (CYFAR) Sustainable Community Grant.

We are excited to be able to bring this program back to our community as it  benefits our youth by giving them quality care that encourages them to be creative and productive.  Explore 4-H Afterschool Fun is unique because the program emphasizes hands on- activities, recreation designed for physical growth, and homework assistance.

Programs that will be offered this fall include fitness, mentoring, tutoring, reading, art and technology, and more.

The program is open to youth grades K-6 as participants and youth in grades 7-12 are welcome as mentors/volunteers.  Program hours are 7:30 a.m. through 5:30 p.m., on Fridays during the school year at Boundary County Middle School.

Enrollment forms are available at the Extension Office or online at http://extension.ag.uidaho.edu/boundary  For additional information please contact Erika Thiel, 4-H Program Coordinator at the Boundary County Extension Office by calling 267-3235 or  e-mail at ethiel@uidaho.edu.
