Freshman transition at BFHS a success
BONNERS FERRY — One hundred students turned out for Freshman transition day Thursday. The day in held to help incoming freshman prepare for their big high school debut.
Incoming freshman had the opportunity to participate in fun activities including leadership and school spirit activities.
“This was a big day for us, we want the incoming freshman to have the opportunity to get the flavor of the building by themselves, so they feel comfortable on the first day,” Principal Curt Randall Bayer said.
The freshman who attended the day dedicated to them enjoyed breakfast, received lockers and their schedules and performed a practice walk-through of their schedule.
Later that evening the freshman attended a barbecue and with their families and faculty and had tours with of the building.
“We had a great turnout during the day,” said Bayer.
“The night shift was a little thinner with about 70 students with their families attending, perhaps because of the middle school and Valley View activities but it was well worth the event.”
