School district, Orr helpful with student

| September 16, 2010 9:00 PM

With all that is involved with setting up school for the new year, I am so impressed with the time and effort put forth by the Valley View Elementary School staff, and in particular Cindy Orr.

They have made it  a very smooth transition for my son to begin school there. As a former rural student, not only does he have the issue of a new larger school, but he has an allergy that requires a great deal of effort and thought to make any school a safe environment for him.

Cindy and her staff have met this challenge with open arms. They have listened to our concerns and worked diligently to alleviate them.

All the while making certain that every student, new or returning had their needs met.

We have all heard the negative stories involving our district and its schools. But how many of us have taken time to seek out the behind the scenes issues that have to be met in order to make our schools a good and safe place to educate our children?

Moving my child to a large school was a concern.  But taking time to get to know Valley View staff and their “we’re so glad to have you” attitude, made me feel as though this was where we belonged.

I would urge everyone to take time to get aquatinted with our schools and the staff that comprises them.

Thank you Valley View for making us a part of your family.
