Valley View students meet teachers

Valley View Elementary School held its first “Meet Your Teacher Night” Thursday.

The school opened its door to students and their families to come and meet their child’s new teacher, see the classroom, put their class supplies away, and take a tour of the school.

“This is something we talked about doing for a couple years and because of the Evergreen student consolidation and new teachers coming in, it seemed like an opportune time to start,” said Pam Copeland, secretary at Valley View Elementary.

 Students amd parents also had the opportunity to meet Mrs. Cindy Orr, the principal, Ms. Rene Barker, the counselor, and Mrs. Pam Copeland and Mrs. Binnall, the secretaries.

Information about  different services available to students were presented.

During the first few weeks of school, the students will be determining the new school colors and mascot. The school will hold a drawing contest to design the new Valley View T-Shirts.

Parents and community members are invited to join committees and volunteer at Valley View Elementary School.
