Emma Lee Gillie (72) passed away at her home near Naples, Idaho on September 20, 2010. Private arrangements will be held.

Emma was born on Sept. 5, 1938, in Burley, Idaho, to Eva and Lawrence Larsen.

She lived her childhood, into her teens in Fallon, Nev., and then attended High School in Sparks, Nev. She spent most of her adult life at Lake Tahoe, Nev., where both daughters Kaeleen Bortz and Theresa Vasquez were raised, went to school and graduated.

After Joe’s retirement as fire chief they moved back to Carson City, Nev. in 1984. In 1993 they moved to Naples, Idaho, where Kaeleen and Steve purchased property.

She loved living on the ranch, having her grandchildren Jessie and Joe Vasquez fly up to spend their vacation times in the beautiful Northwest. She also enjoyed seeing her grandchildren Dirk, Kyle and Bethany go through school graduate and then on to college. She adored her grandchildren.

She loved Nevada — the smell of rain on the sage, the purple mountains and deserts and the wide open spaces, hunting, fishing and boating. She loved the Idaho mountains, great fishing and the long days of summer. So many wonderful memories.

Those that remain here on this great earth of ours include, daughters Kaeleen Bortz and husband Steve, Theresa Vasquez and husband Chris and her five beloved grandchildren. brothers-in-law, Herbert Gillie and wife Doris, mother Eva Sandman of Ogden, Utah, sister Lenora Hatcher of Silver Springs, Nev., and many nieces, nephews.

Her two brothers, Fredrick and Lonnie, as well as her father, daughter Joelee and husband Arnold Joe, the love of her life, preceded her in death as did brother-in-law Robert Gillie.

“To all my very dear friends I love all of you.” Emma L. Gillie
