Hall Pac-10 Wrestling Scholar Athlete

BOISE — Boise State redshirt senior Adam Hall received a piece of prestigious individual recognition, March 28, as he was named the Pac-10 Conference Wrestling Scholar-Athlete of the Year for his success on and off the mat this season.

Hall, a Bonners Ferry native, is scheduled to graduate this spring with a bachelor's degree in health science. He has maintained a 3.50 GPA, while achieving several academic honors during his time at Boise State. Hall was named to the 2010 Pac-10 All-Academic First Team. He was also selected to the 2009 and 2010 National Wrestling Coaches Association Academic All-America team.

For winning the Scholar-Athlete of the Year award, Hall will receive a commemorative award. Toyo will donate $1,000 to the scholarship funds of the Boise State Athletic Department in recognition of his accomplishments.

In order to be eligible for the Pac-10 Scholar-Athlete of the Year award, a student-athlete must be a senior in athletics eligibility, be on track to receive a degree, have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher, participate in at least 50 percent of their team's contests and have at least one year in residence at the institution. Hall is one of 22 Scholar-Athlete of the Year selections by the Pac-10 this season, as the conference honors an individual from each sponsored sport.

Hall recently concluded his collegiate wrestling career with a fifth-place finish in the 157-pound weight class at the NCAA Championships. With the top eight placing Hall earned the second NCAA All-America honors of his career. He did so for the first time in 2010 with a third-place finish at nationals.

After wrestling to a 30-2 record in 2010-11, Hall finishes his career with a 122-18 overall mark. His 122 career wins ranks second all-time at Boise State, trailing only Tyler Sherfey (124-39). He also finishes his career as a two-time Pac-10 Champion.
