Frank Ross Lee, 83

Frank Ross Lee, 83, passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2011, at his home in Bonners Ferry, Idaho. 

A celebration of Frank’s life will be held in Seattle on Friday May 13 at 4 p.m. in the First Baptist Church sanctuary, 1111 Harvard Ave., just off Broadway. A reception will follow downstairs in the Fellowship Hall.

Frank was born on May 4, 1927 in Yakima, Wash., to Robert and Marjorie Lee.  He grew up and attended schools in Yakima, prior to joining the Merchant Marines at age 16.  He later served in the United States Army. 

Frank served a long career in Seattle law enforcement. His first 22 years were spent with the Seattle Police Department where he was part of their pistol team, and was a Camp Perry National Pistol Champion.

Frank was Mayor Wes Ulmans' driver/bodyguard. He retired from the department and then spent 18 years as a supervisor for the Firearms section of the Seattle Crime Laboratory and retired in 1993.

Frank married Robin Freeburg Bussoletti in 2004 and the couple moved to Bonners Ferry, Idaho, in 2005.  Frank was an avid fisherman and big game hunter.

He is survived by his wife Robin Lee in Bonners Ferry, Idaho; daughters Barbara Weaver of Champagne, Ill., and Susan (Nicholas) Walberg of Laurel, Md.; five grandchildren: Jennifer Lee Venditto, Sherry Weaver, Linda Weaver, Jolene Dechert and Dimitry Walberg; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Marvel Lee of Yakima, Wash.; one brother John (Virginia) Lee of Yakima, Wash.; two step children: Natalee Bussoletti of New York City and James Bussoletti of Wenatchee, Wash.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son Frank Ross Lee Jr. in 2003.
