A head-on collision at the Cow Creek Y in Boundary County Friday left five people injured.

Most of the injuries were determined to be minor.

Tony Shope, 20, of Bonners Ferry was driving down Cow Creek Road in a red 1988 Chevrolet pickup when he swung wide while coming up to the Y, according to the Boundary County Sheriffs Office.

He collided with a black 1989 Chevy Blazer driving by Shawna Patterson, 25, also of Bonners Ferry.

Kristin Mastre was riding as a passenger in the Shope vehicle, while Brandon Hurst and a two-year-old child were passengers in the Patterson vehicle.

The injured were transported to Boundary Community Hospital for treatment.

Shope was cited for reckless driving.
