Gun and Horn Show 2011

Guns and antlers were the main attractions at the 18th Annual Gun and Horn Show last weekend. Overall attendance was down a little from last year but it was still a good show according to Ken Brink.

The Horn Contest garnered 54 racks and nine shed antler entries, which was down 25 percent from last year according to Wally Dinning.

Proceeds raised from the annual show help the Kootenai Valley Sportsman’s Association fund local projects.

Money raised will help fund youth projects and the archery program at the middle school.

The Kootenai Valley Sportsman’s Association has also helped fund the handicap trail at Dawson Lake, bird houses for the birds of prey that Ken English rehabilitates and improvements at the rifle range.

They also financially assist kids attending the state archery shoot, kids attending the Fish and Game summer camp and they helped sponsor an African hunting trip for youth.

Linda Lederhos sold food during the Gun and Horn Show and all the proceeds were donated to the Care-n-Share program.
