Virginia Eleanor Clanton, 79

Virginia Eleanor Clanton, 79, of Bonners Ferry died Friday, Feb. 11, 2011 at Kootenai Medical Center.

Memorial services will be conducted at 11 a.m.  Friday, Feb. 18,  in the Corssroads Chapel in Bonners Ferry.

Virginia was born March 4, 1931 in Thompson, Ohio the daughter of John Merrill and Esther Lincks.  Virginia attended schools in Chesterland, Ohio and graduated Chester High School in 1949.  She worked for Woolworth’s for a time.  She later worked at Barker Engineering and Reliance Electric in South Euclid, Ohio as an editor of instruction manuals until her retirement in 1991.  Virginia moved to Bonners Ferry in 1999.

She enjoyed quilting, gardening, and bowling.

She is survived by one brother: Edwin Lincks of Florida;  three sisters: Jeanne Bodjiak and Dorothy Wigand both of Ohio; Shirley (George) Elliott of Bonners Ferry; and by numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.

Memorials may be made to Bonners Ferry Cancer Support, 6605 Fry Street, Bonners Ferry, in memory of Virginia Clanton.
