Joshua Richard Peters, 29

| July 21, 2011 7:56 AM

Joshua Richard Peters, 29, died in a car accident near Libby, Mont., on Friday, July 15, 2011.

Services were held at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, July 19, 2011, at the Sandpoint Assembly of God Church with Pastor Brian Noble officiating.

Josh was born in Sandpoint, Idaho, on Dec. 5, 1981, to Richard and Carrie Peters.

He was a mischievous child from the time he was two and that behavior followed him for the rest of his life.

There was always a twinkle in his eyes and a silly little grin on his face whenever he was up to something. Josh graduated from Sandpoint High School in 2000.  He had a lot of friends and was very competitive; he loved many sports and activities. Of those activities his real passions were basketball, softball, pool, bowling, hunting and working security for the Copper Mountain Band.

Josh started working at Litehouse Inc. at 16 while going to school and continued working there until 2009.

Josh married Katherine Dunton in 2000 and together they had two beautiful daughters, Julia and Mackenzie.  They later divorced, but Josh continued to be a loving and devoted father.

At the time of his death, Josh was living in Bonners Ferry with his long-time girlfriend Stephanie Lederhos. He was working at Green Gallons Solutions and when possible he traveled with the band providing security.

Josh is survived by his parents Rick (Brigitte) Peters of Moscow and Carrie Peters of Sandpoint; his daughters Julia,11, and Mackenzie, 5; brother Jeremiah (Megan) Peters of Sandpoint; sister Elise Tucker of Sandpoint, and half sister Samantha Peters of Moscow; grandparents Joseph (Janet) Peters of Hope and Blanch Harvey of Sandpoint; he is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Josh was preceded in death by his aunt Terri Peters, uncle John Hunt, uncle Steve Hunt and grandparents Stan and Colleen Hunt.

We all loved Josh and will miss him terribly. He lived with great love of life and enthusiasm.

Lakeview Funeral Home in Sandpoint is handling the arrangements.  Please visit Josh’s online memorial at  http://www.lakeviewfuneral.com" www.lakeviewfuneral.com and sign his guest book.
