Seventy teams signed up to compete in SWISH in downtown Bonners Ferry over the weekend, continuing what is sure to be a long-time summer tradition.

This is the fourth year the three-on-three street ball tournament has taken place.  It has become quite the event evolving each year as it grows.  There were 269 basketball players braving the streets of Bonners Ferry.

This year, volunteers posted results on-line, updating hourly as games are underway, so the families of teams who traveled a long way can keep track of what's happening.

Ron Sukenik of Bonners Ferry Rotary Club and first-year Swish director stresses how great it was to have all of the community come together.

“It takes a community to put on an event like this, sponsors and volunteers, it could not have happened without every person that was there and every sponsor we had,” Sukenik said.

More than 100 volunteers from throughout Boundary County volunteered to make this event a northwest showcase.

Former Harlem Globetrotter Seth Franco, entertained the crowd with classic Globetrotter talent. Franco, is married to a  former Bonners Ferry resident, Sarah Parlow.

Businesses got into the groove  such as Jill's, Under the Sun, Huckleberries, Riverside Chevy and more, catered to the crowds.

Mike Naumann's Kootenai Brewing Company, opened a beer garden after Saturday's games.

And while the focus was defintely on basketball, there were other activities, including a huge hit with the kids, a rock climbing mountain manned by the Idaho National Guard a bounce room and a huge slide.

The team No Blood No Glory went undefeated to lay claim to the 9-10 boys division and the K Gals won the 9-10 girls division.
