Boundary County School District No. 101 welcomes Stephen Fisher as the new coach for the Bonners Ferry High School football team.

Fisher is an avid outdoorsman and looks forward to moving to Bonners Ferry.

He coached for a season at Salmon High School and spent several years playing and coaching  in the U.S. Marine league.

“Stephen is a retired Marine full of energy, leadership ability and drive to succeed,” said BFHS Athletic Director Kris Knowles. “I think he will be a good fit in Bonners Ferry and I am looking forward to getting started.”

Fisher will move his family to Bonners Ferry after the close of the first football season.  He has three children ages 10, six and five.

“The primary focus of my football program is to build young men with tremendous character and get them ready for their adult lives,” said Fisher.  “Not to say that winning isn’t important we will also look to improve the record from last year.”

Fisher said the Badgers football team will be a team of great work ethic and intensity, they will play hard on every down and the wins will take care of themselves.

Fisher and Knowles will hold an informational meeting at 7 p.m., today at BFHS.  They will introduce themselves at the meeting and be available to answer questions.
