Cabin Fever Night

The Rex Theater will be showing the classic, “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid” at 7.pm.  on Thursday, March 10, For free.  Why, you might ask?

“It’s that time of year when we feel stuck between the end of winter and the distant promise of spring. It’s starting to stay light out longer, but not light enough. And the sun surprises us here and there, but sporadically enough to invoke huge grins when we do see it,” said Carol Mesenbrink, who’s supporting this fledgling event by making The Rex Theater available on Thursday night. 

The Chamber of Commerce is helping out with an ad in the Herald, and may sponsor the event next year.

Merchants will be staying open later than usual on Thursday night, in hopes that folks will come into town a little earlier than show time to re-visit stores they may not have been to in awhile. 

As payment for staying late and missing dinner at home, each participating merchant will receive hot pizza donated by AJ’s Bowling Lanes delivered right to their door that evening. Restaurants would like to see some new friendly faces as well.

“This is a reminder to everyone in our community that this is your town.  We need to support our merchants and restaurants. Why not load up your car with your friends and family for this great evening in Bonners Ferry?” said Robert Hanover, who spearheaded this event. 

“It doesn’t cost you anything to stop in to a few of your local stores and say hello.  Especially if your work schedule prevents you from browsing during the week.”
