When Boundary County School District No. 101 puts together their calendar each school year they allow four scheduled snow days.

Monday, Feb. 28, marked the sixth snow day this school year  which means two days have to be made up.

Don Bartling superintendent for BCSD wants parents, teachers and students to know one make up day has been scheduled for Friday, March 25.  This will cover the snow day school closure for Tuesday, March 22.

Regular school hours  and bus routes are already in place for this day.

“It has been a higher number of snow days this year,” said Bartling. “It just makes more sense to add a couple Fridays than extending to summer vacation.”

The make up day for Feb. 28, has not been scheduled but will be announced at a later date. Should there be any more snow days called this school year Bartling said it is likely they will be made up on Fridays.

The last day of school will stay as scheduled on Thursday, June 9, for all students except for high school seniors, their last day is Thursday, June 2. Bartling said it is their hope to keep the last day of school the same.

During a storm people can go to www.bcsd101.com after  5 a.m. to find out if school has been canceled for the day.
