On Saturday, a crowd of Boundary County community members, including children, students, families, education employees, retirees, state workers, young and old, gathered on Highway 95 at the entrance of the Kootenai River Inn to protest Gov. Butch Otter's leadership im Idaho.

Governor Otter traveled all the way to North Idaho for a Republican celebration of the birthday of Ronald Reagan.

As his gold SUV pulled into the parking lot of the KRI, Otter and his wife were greeted with a field of signs with messages about the decisions he, Tom Luna and the state legislature have made covering such issues as jobs, education, Medicaid, workers' rights, guns on campus, his legacy to Idaho, reducing the number of teachers for Idaho's students, cuts to the poor and middle class while sending money for school computing devices and testing to out-of-state companies, etc.

The crowd was peaceful and respected requests made by the Bonners Ferry police to remain on the sidewalks.

A chant of "What does democracy look like? This is what democracy looks like." kept the crowd warm in the brisk North Idaho morning.

Throughout the state, Governor Otter will be greeted by similar citizens exercising their rights and voicing their disappointment in his leadership.
