Fred Guthrie,87, passed away on Dec. 31, 2010, in Spokane, Wash.

 Graveside services will be held on May 21, 2010, at 1 p.m. in the Grandview Cemetery, Bonners Ferry, Idaho.

He was born in a log cabin in Copeland, Idaho, on Dec. 4, 1923, to Chauncey and Josephine Guthrie. He was the fourth child out of a family that eventually included two daughters and five sons.

Fred was a twice wounded, decorated veteran of World War II and attained the rank of buck sargeant. His military service was performed primarily in the European theatre and included the invasion at Normandy Beach, the Battle of the Bulge and Buchenwald (always remember).

He will be remembered for his outgoing friendly nature and his talent as a country-western musician. His pride and joy was his family. Fred was happily married for 53 years to his beloved wife, Annabelle Lesmeister Guthrie (deceased).

Fred is survived by his children Russ (Patti Butler- fiancé) Guthrie, Debbie (Greg) Prater, Michael (Jan) Guthrie, Calleen Veh (loving companion), two brothers, four grandchildren and one great grandchild.
