On Veteran's Day, Friday, Nov. 11, a special presentation was held in conjunction with ceremonies honoring our Veterans.

A special Fallen Heroes Quilt, made  in honor of Army Sgt. Joshua Kirk, who died in action in Afghanistan Oct. 3, 2009, was presented Joshua's family, including his mother, Bernadette Kirk-Bonner, and his sister, Jessica.

The Bonners Ferry family received the Patchwork Memorials Fallen Heroes Foundation which was created by Timothy and Christopher Miles, also the founders of PatchworkMemorials.com, a manufacturer and distributor of heirloom quality memorial products.

Timothy Miles presented to the Kirk family.

Miles believes that, as Americans, enough can’t be done to pay tribute to our fallen heroes who died defending our country and our way of life.

Since the beginning of this great country, families have been comforted and sustained during a time of loss by receiving a memorial quilt, often made by caring friends and neighbors.

This company developed a process to create these fine quilts in sufficient numbers to aspire to launch their Foundation in order to deliver a customized and personalized quilt to the family of each Fallen Hero who has died since the 9/11 attack on America.
