Sixth grade football Badgers 0 Timberlake 41
For the Badger sixth grade players and fans all there was to enjoy was the sunshine on Saturday.
The Badgers missing several key starters were shorthanded, outnumbered and outsized against the Timberlake Tigers.
The Badgers played tough in the first half giving up a late touchdown right before the half to go down 14-0.
The Badgers luck didn’t change any in the second half as running back and linebacker Chris Sabin left the game early in the third quarter with an ankle injury. Without their team intact, the Badgers were not able to move the ball at all on offense and couldn’t stop it on defense.
Despite the lopsided score, a handful of players defined Badger pride, when it just isn’t going your way you can either cash it in or fight to the end and there were four or five who left everything they had on the field.
The Badger fifthh and sixth grade teams return to Lakeland on Saturday, Oct 8. The fifth grade kickoff is at 9 a.m. and the sixth graders will start at 10:30 a.m..
