Candidates file for Bonners Ferry seats

Read profiles of a few of the candidates for the cities of Bonners Ferry and Moyie Springs in this week’s issue.

Bonners Ferry will have incumbent Mayor Anderson go up against Steve Galbraith for mayor.

Two city council seats will be challenged in both Bonners Ferry and Moyie Springs.

In Bonners Ferry city council incumbents Connie Wells will face-off against former council member Dave Gray and chief of police Rick Alonzo.

Chris Clark will not be in the running, however his name will appear on the ballot.  In a last minute turn of events Clark has purchased a property just outside city limits and will no longer be able to qualify to run for council. 

In Moyie Springs there council member will Geoff Hollenbeck will not run and incumbent Terry Johnson is up against Rosanne Smith, Bart Klaus and Doug Reoch.

The Herald still needs to interview Terry Johnson and Bart Klaus running in Moyie Springs and  incumbent Connie Wells running for Bonners Ferry city council. Those candidates are asked to contact the Herald.

Election for the city positions take place from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8, with Bonners Ferry City residents voting according to precinct; Valley View precinct at Valley View Elementary, Kootenai, Bonners Ferry and North Bonners Ferry voters casting their ballots at the Fairgrounds Memorial Hall.
