| September 1, 2011 6:11 AM

A logging truck overturned on Highway 2 at about 10:11 a.m. on Aug. 26, spilling a load of logs across the highway.

The mishap blocked traffic in both directions for what is expected to be several hours.

There were no injuries.

The truck was heading west when it ran off the road overturned. Sheriffs deputies, Bonners Ferry Police, Boundary Volunteer Ambulance and Curley Creek Fire is on scene.

Drivers traveling in either direction on Highway 2 near the Montana state line should attempt to find an alternate route or find a place to stop and wait it out short of the accident scene, which is near milepost 79.

According to a deputy on scene, it could be late afternoon before the roadway is cleared and traffic is moving again.
