Council incumbents face challengers

City elections are coming and Bonners Ferry Mayor Anderson faces a challenge.

Stephen Galbraith will run against Anderson.

Election for the city positions take place from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8, with Bonners Ferry City residents voting according to precinct; Valley View precinct at Valley View Elementary, Kootenai, Bonners Ferry and North Bonners Ferry voters casting their ballots at the Fairgrounds Memorial Hall.

Two city council seats will be challenged in both Bonners Ferry and Moyie Springs.

In Bonners Ferry city council incumbents Connie Wells and Chris Clark will face-off against former council member Dave Gray and chief of police Rick Alonzo.

In Moyie Springs there council member will Geoff Hollenbeck will not run and incumbent Terry Johnson is up against Roseanne Smith, Bart Klaus and Doug Reoch.

As all of Moyie Springs lies within the Moyie Springs precinct, eligible voters there will cast their ballots at Moyie Springs City Hall.

In city elections the candidate getting the most votes wins and when there are two positions available the top two candidates win.

As there were no challenged positions on fire boards those incumbents will retain their positions and no election will be held.

Boundary County will be overseeing the election counting votes and results will be posted as they become available on the county web site, www.boundarycountyid.org.
