Hoisington wins DYW

Aaramie Hoisington was crowned Distinguished Young Woman for Bonners Ferry.

She also won prizes and scholarships in two more categories.

Hoisington won gifts and prizes including a $2,250 DYW Scholarship, the official DYW Medallion, dozen roses provided by Pace-Kerby & Co., $300 state travel allowance, a gift basket from the Kootenai River Spa, custom portrait by Robert Bissett, photo shoot with Mica Jae’s Photography, and gift certificates from Curves, Hair Connection, Artistry Cosmetics, Tamie Bremer,  Larson’s  and  Northern Air, Inc.

 First runner up was Ivy Dirks and won an $1,800 DYW Scholarship, Gift Basket, from The Gallery, Gift Certificates from  Mugsy’s, Curves, Larsons and Zip Trip drive in.

Second runner up, Tessa Payne  won a $1,500 DYW Scholarship, a gift basket from Twin Rivers Canyon Resort and gift certificates from Mugsy’s Curves Larson’s and Zip’s Drive In.

Third runner up Ashley Lucas received an $800 DYW Scholarship, a gift basket from  Teresa’s Family Salon, and gift certificates from Jill’s Cafe, Curves,  Larson’s. and Zip’s Drive In .

The event demonstrated 17 girls and their talent, spirit, self-expression, fitness, scholastics, and they all participated in an interview.

 The girls participating are: Jessica Rose Beazer, daughter of Mark and Laura Beazer; Rachel Skye Endicott, daughter of Belynda Bohn Rhoads and Robert Endicott; Tessa Raye Payne, daughter of Brett and Charlene Bennett;  Darian Nicole Tompkins,daughter of Jerry and Crystal Tompkins;

  Alaina Sunshine Bennett, daughter of Tiffany and Brian Bennett; Ivy Claire Orlean Dirks, daughter of Lisa and Douglas Dirks; Ashley Kate Lucas,  daughter of Angela and Scott Lucas;

 Mariah Lynn Munson, daughter of Tammie and Kenneth Goggia; Katrina Suzanne Alverez, daughter of Susie and Steve Alverez; Hailey McKell Beazer, daughter of Doug and Marianne Beazer;

 Jordan Ann Grapensteter, daughter of Rene Wheeler and Thomas Grapensteter; Shayann Murphy, the daughter of Rene and Patrick Murphy; Courtney Ann Tucker, daughter of Stephanie and John Tucker;

Amber Linne Barradale, daughter of Janet and Trygve Aos; Aaramie Noel Hoisington, daughter of Shelly and Rex Hoisington; Elizabeth Dawn Racer, daughter of Jeanne and Robert Racer;  and Alysia Michaela Solt, daughter of Jennifer Solt.

The winner of the spirit award was Elizabeth Racer who won a $700 scholarship and many gift baskets. The be your best self winner was Mariah Munson who won a scholarship $700 and several gift baskets.. Self Expression and fitness went to Alysia Solt who won a $700 scholarship and several gift baskets for each category.

The winner of the talent portion was Hailey Beazer who received a $700 and gift baskets.  In the scholastics portion two winners  Aaramie Hoisington and Jessica Beazer who won $750 scholarships and gift baskets.

Aaramie Hoisington won the interview portion as well earning her a $700 and more gift baskets.

The dozens and dozens of gift baskets provided for the DYW were provided by local merchants.

Each DYW also received gift certificates to the Rex Theater.
