Bernice (Jacobsen) Figg, 96

Bernice (Jacobsen) Figg, 96, passed away on April 6, 2012, at the Community Restorium in Bonners Ferry, Idaho.  

Private arrangements with interment will be at Evergreen-Washelli Cemetery in Seattle, Wash.

She was born on Aug. 29, 1915, in Seattle, one of seven children born to Bernt and Julia Jacobsen.

She married Charles A. Figg in 1934. She was a housewife until the outbreak of WWII at which time she went to work for Standard Oil Co., until the end of the war.

At which time she went back to being a housewife, residing at the family home in the shoreline area of north Seattle.

In 1951, daughter Charlene was born. In 1981 her husband, Charles of 47 years, passed away. Bernice remained living in the family home until 1999, at which time she moved to Bonners Ferry, Idaho, to live with her daughter and son-in-law.

In September of 2012 she moved to the Community Restorium where she lived until her death.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Bernt and Julia Jacobsen, husband; Charles A. Figg, sisters; Lillian Jacobsen; Mildred Jacobsen; Helen Bucher, Brothers Jacob Jacobsen; and Harold Jacobsen.

She is survived by daughter, Charlene (Dennis) Johnson of Bonners Ferry, Idaho; granddaughter Kerry (Scott) Smith, Maricopa, Ariz., great-granddaughters; Shayla and Ashley Schulz, of Maricopa, sister Lillian (Wayne) Moore, Lynnwood, Wash.
