Details of sister's life not pertinent

| April 19, 2012 11:34 AM

In March’s “Progress Updates 2012” an article was printed about my sister Christine Lott.

She went missing in 2004.

I appreciate this reporter’s effort; however I was surprised to see that information had been printed about my sister’s past drug use as I did not think that would be relevant information for the general public. Also, for several years I have not believed that my sister left of her own accord. I am unsure about the statement that my brother-in-law allegedly made that my sister would never leave her children. This was a statement made by myself and my mother.  At that time my brother in law stated that Christy had left him and did not know where she was except vis-a- vis the “Red Truck Story”.

I appreciate the unrelenting efforts of Detective Sgt. Gary Johnston, the Bonner County Sheriff’s Department and the cold case detective following my sister’s case.

My sister’s disappearance has been devastating to my family, immediate and extended, especially her children. The confusion that surrounds her disappearance has been unfathomable. We miss and love/d my sister Christy very much. But for our faith in God and His hand on our family, we may have been destroyed by this. He keeps us steady through the storm as long as it rails against us. Thank you to the community who loves us and whom we love for their support and especially to our church family at the Bonners Ferry United Methodist Church.
