Three tracksters win 2 events each
Jacob Callister, Micah Krmpotich and Rock Stapley each won two events at the Freeman Invitational track meet Saturday.
Callister doubled in the 400 meter run (51.68) and the 800 meter run(2:11.87). Krmpotich won the 1600 meter run (5:02) and the 3200 meter run (10:59).
Rock Stapley zoomed down the straight-away in the in the 100 meter dash (11.56) and the 200 meter dash (23.4) to complete the sweep of the running events.
In the girls events Courtney Tucker grabbed a first in the 400 meter run (64.03), second in the 200 meter dash (28.15), and fourth in the 100 meter dash (13.69). Mackenzie Mendenhall was second in 300 hurdles (50.86). Sarah Schuman placed third in the shot put (30’7”).
Other top six individuals for the boys that placed are as follows: Jarod Lysne sixth 800 (2:21), Collin Cossairt sixth 600(5:14), Zach Heigel third shot put(39’2’)and fourth discus(104’6”), Kyler Rice sixth high jump (5’6”), Josh Dufrene fourth pole vault (9’6”) and Kody Rice fifth triple jump(38’5”).
For the girls: Aimee Sayers sixth 1600(6:28) & 6th 3200(13:39), Mackenzie Mendenhall fourth 100 hurdles (18.02), Sydney Hubbard placed fifth 100 hurdles (18.42), Anika Blackmore placed fourth high jump(4’10”), and Emma Kelly fourth pole vault (7’6”).
Boys relays placing were: 4x100 6th (48.7), (Tre Roberts, Connor Bennett, Reed Bennett, Rock Stapley), 4x400 fifth (4:11), (Jared Lysne, Jacob Callister, Collin Cossaairt, Noah Price), Distance Relay fourth (12:26), (Jacob Callister, Jared Lysne, Collin Cossairt, Micah Krmpotich).
Girls Relays placing were: 4 X 100 4th (54.73), (Meg Newell, Anika Blackmore, Allyson Merrifield, Liz Racer). 4 x 200 second (1:54.39), (Meg Newell, Allyson Merrifield, Liz Racer, Mackenzie Mendenhall). 4 x 400 fourth (4:38.96), (Olivia Fee, Allyson Merrifield, Mackenzie Mendenhall, Liz Racer), Distance Relay fourth (16:36.12), (Jordan Merz, Brianna Stofeiel, Olivia Fee, Jocelyn Palacios).
During Thursday’s meet with St. Maries and Kellogg the Badgers girls and boys both defeated both teams in a double dual meet.
Coach George Hays said the Badger track team is halfway through the season now and their marks are improving with the weather.
The next meet is a league dual on Thursday at Timberlake and an Invitational at Priest River on the weekend, said Hays.
