Habitat to build ninth house
BONNERS FERRY — Boundary County Habitat for Humanity is now accepting applications for its ninth house to be built in Bonners Ferry.
Boundary County Habitat for Humanity is a group of volunteers dedicated to building decent, affordable homes for families in need.
The homes, built with contributions of money, materials, labor and love, are then sold without interest or profit to families who do not qualify for bank loans. To qualify for a Habitat home applicants must have a housing need and contribute 300 hours sweat-equity for a single parent or 500 hours for two parents; all applicants must be a citizen of the United States and a Boundary County resident for at least one year; criminal and financial backgrounds are required.
When approved, applicants will be asked to make a $800 down payment one-year to help cover closing costs.
