Larry Lee Pinkerton, 76

Larry Lee Pinkerton, 76, passed away March 17, 2012, in Sun City, Ariz.

Larry was born in Lexington, Neb., on June 14, 1935, to Norris N. and Julia Mae Frances Knaggs Pinkerton.

Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Larry’s life at their home at 4040 Fleming Creek Road in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, (District 5 village) at 2 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 12.

He spent his early childhood years in North Platte, Neb.

The family moved to Copeland, Idaho, in 1947. He attended Copeland grade school and graduated from Bonners Ferry High School in 1953.

He attended the University of Idaho. In 1955, he married Marjorie Cook and had three sons.

In 1960, he accepted an appointment in the United States Border Patrol and from there on his career in the Immigration services expanded.

His first duty station was in Chula Vista, Calif. From there he worked in Detroit, Los Angeles, Eastport, Idaho, Guam, Porta Rico, the Virgin Islands and Albuquerque, N. M.

He retired in 1993 to spend summers in Bonners Ferry and winters in Sun City.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marjorie; his three sons, Lester, LeAlan and Lynn and their wives; nine grandchildren, his brother Gary and wife; and Debra Perkins and numerous nieces and nephews.
