Sam Dockins, 75

Sam Dockins, 75, passed away July 10, 2012, in Spokane, Wash.

Sam was born Oct. 5, 1936, in Sandpoint, Idaho, to Hardin U. and Mabel L. Dockins. He attended Sandpoint schools.

Sam owned a variety of businesses, including Dockins Equipment in Bonners Ferry and in recent years, Dockins Logging. He enjoyed a hard day’s work, pretty women, and a good horse.

Sam is survived by four children: Kelly O. of Pullman, Wash., Scott J. (Debi) of Viola, Idaho, Kathy L. Rainey of Sandpoint and Jubel J. (Rafaella) of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; four grandchildren, KJ Dockins, Brian and Jennifer Rainey and Zac Dockins; and two sisters, Maggie (Dick) Sherwood and Judy (Wes) Felland, both of Sandpoint. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Pete; and a son-in-law, Doug Rainey.

A celebration of Sam’s life will be held in Sandpoint at a later date.
