Boundary Middle School girls win three games in a row

The Boundary County Middle School

girls basketball team have won three games in a row this

month.

On Jan. 28, the eighth grade girls Badgers basketball tam beat

Kellogg 39-6.

The team’s  defense was the key to the Badgers big win over the

Wildcats, according to coach Pat Behrens.

The girls picked up 20 steals lead by Kerstin Oxford with seven.

Oxford also led the team with seven assists. Jaiden Everhart led

the team with 10 points, most of those on the end of an Oxford

pass, and grabbed five rebounds. Abby Davis had a strong game with

eight points and seven rebounds. Hannah Lysne chipped in six points

and three steals off the bench. 

Other girls who scored were Regan Byars with five points, Oxford

with four points, Aaliyah Zarate, Kayleigh Morgan and Malorie

Stippich all added two. 

On Jan. 23, the eighth grade Badgers beat Timberlake 41-12. 

Beherens said strong team defense was the key to Badger win over

the visiting Tigers. Everhart led the girls in scoring with eight

points and seven rebounds. Solid bench play was a major factor in

the win, Beherens said.

Lysne had seven points and three steals, Regan Byars  had six

points and six rebounds, Morgan had five rebounds and two

points.

Malorie Stippich had two assists and disrupted the Tiger offense

with her strong perimeter defense. Zarate added seven rebounds and

three steals and Abby Davis chipped in six points and five

rebounds. Oxford added four points and four assists, and Ciera

Woods pitched in four points.

In the season opening game Jan. 19 for the eighth grade girls

basketball the Badgers beat Priest Rive, 62- 6. 

The Badgers played well as a team totaling 20 assists on 30 made

baskets.

Oxford turned in a strong overall performance with nine rebounds,

seven assists, and six points. Zarate had 10 points, six rebounds

and three steals.  Regan Byars had eight points and six rebounds.

Ciera Woods and Abby Davis each added 10 points. Everhart led the

girls with five steals. The Badgers who scored were Lysne with

eight points, Everhart had six points,  Morgan and Stippich both

had two points.
