8th grade girls defeat Lakeland

On Feb.1, the girls eighth-grade basketball team played the team from Lakeland beating them 42-18.

Kerstin Oxford led a balanced scoring attack with nine points, while Jaiden Everhart, Regan Byars, and Ciera Woods all tallied eight points. Everhart had a nice all around game as she led the girls with seven rebounds while dishing out three assists and adding three steals. 

Malorie Stippich also found her open teammates for three assists. Kayleigh Morgan and Kerstin Oxford were tough on defense with three steals each. 

Other scoring Badgers for this game were Aaliyah Zarate with five points, Malorie Stippich and  Abby Davis both had two points.

The Badger girls traveled to Sandpoint, Jan. 30,  for a tough contest against the host Bulldogs with a final score of Badgers 31 and the  Bulldogs 23.

Coach Pat Behrens said Byars turned in a strong effort for the Badgers with 11 points, five rebounds and three steals.

Davis and Everhart did the work on the boards as they each pulled down eight rebounds. Morgan and Oxford each added six rebounds.

Other scoring wighth grade Badgers were Everhart with five points, Morgan with four, Hannah Lysne also had four points.  Zarate, Stippich and Oxford all had two points. Woods also scored one point.
