Gene Clayton Envik, 82

| February 16, 2012 4:37 AM

Gene Clayton Envik, 82, as Gene would put it, “expired from too many birthdays,” on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

Funeral services will be held at 1p.m. on Friday, Feb. 17, 2012, at the Lakeview Funeral Home in Sandpoint with Pastor Steve Neuder officiating.  Burial will follow at the Lakeview Cemetery.

Viewing for friends and family will be held Thursday from noon until 5pm and Friday morning prior to services.

Gene was born on July 16, 1929, in Bismarck, N.D. to Homer and Loretta Envik. He attended school in Sterling, N.D. and he rode his horse during “good weather” months.  He graduated high school in Whittier, Calif., in 1948.

Gene married Lorrine Bickel on Aug. 5, 1950, in Bismarck. The family settled in Petaluma, Calif., and Gene went in to business for himself operating Gene’s Flooring. Gene retired in 1979 and moved to Bonner’s Ferry, ID, and later in 2008 to Sagle.

Gene was full of smiles and loved to have a good time.  He was a great handyman and enjoyed fixing things, but his greatest love was his family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Lorrine Envik of Sandpoint; son Dennis (Joyce) Envik of Sagle; daughter Vikki (Dan) Eraldi of Sonoma, CA; five grandchildren Erik, Levi, and Ivan Envik and Christine and Claire Eraldi; and five great grandchildren Zach, Alex, Seirra, Carter, and Liam.

Lakeview Funeral Home in Sandpoint is handling the arrangements.  Please visit Gene’s online memorial at www.lakeviewfuneral.com and sign his guest book.
