It's time to walk like a penguin

Which will be in Bonners Ferry first the Special Olympics Idaho Penguin Plunge 2012 or spring?

Who will have the most outrageous costume this year and who will make the front page?

Find out just how cold the plungers will get.  Registration begins at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 3, at the Deep Creek boat launch in Bonners Ferry.

Plungers start “Freezin for a Reason” at noon. Sponsor a plunger or become a plunger to benefit the Idaho Special Olympics Athletes.

Food, prizes for plungers, hot chocolate and a chance to meet the Special Olympics Idaho Athletes.

Plungers recieve a T-shirt and can win prizes for best costume, most money raised and team spirit.

This is the third year the Penguin Plunge event has raised money for the Athletes of Idaho Special Olympics and is growing each year. Don’t miss out on the fun.

Also check out the  Idaho Special Olympics Penguin Plunge Icebreaker at 6 p.m., Friday, March 2, at Mugsy’s. Get a preview of who will be taking the plunge.

Anyone too cool to take the plunge can become a Cyber-plunger. Kids under 12 who want to raise money can wade into the Kootenai River  and it is considered as good as taking the plunge.  Fundraising incentives include an Ipod touch.
