Annexation
If there was al election and the mayor of Bonners Ferry was ahead with 95 percent of the vote, would there be any possibility of him losing the election?
The opposition to the proposed annexation to the city had 95 percent opposition to the annexation but the city says we will be annexed anyway.
Seems like rather strange politics. It might be something you would see in some countries in the World but it is hard to imagine it being done that way in the United States. In this country the constitution guarantees individual voter's rights.
I'm afraid that if the matter needed to be settled in court, the city could lose the case and end up paying the court costs and attorney's fees. I don't think the city is so well off that it could risk such a financial setback at this time.
