Avalanche U12 girls win final league game

The Avalanche U12 girl's soccer team won their final league game of the season 1-0 against Ephrata Extreme.

With the win, the team captured second place in District 6. Julia Stites played awesome in goal, recording the shut out.

Scarlet Harper and Colleen Kindred had outstanding games, anchoring the defense. Elizabeth Garza played well in the midfield, providing nice passes to the front runners.

Rachel Meyer and Abby Johnson played solid on the left side, creating some great runs to the goal, along with some great crosses. Helen Merwin took several shots on goal, keeping the keeper on her toes.

Shelby Goatherd took control of the right side of the field with her midfield play, and had some nice crosses into the box.  

Jaydin Whitten and Amy Edwards took many strong shots on goal, while Casey and Claire Shaha proved to be a great force with their ball control and passing.  

Jennie Maddux led the team to victory with a break away dribble out of the back, dribbling into the penalty box, getting fouled and then scoring on a pently kick with only two minutes left in the game.
