Report illegal parties

| June 28, 2012 8:32 AM

It is summer and as the weather gets warmer our county’s high school aged students will be planning outdoor parties where illegal drinking often occurs.

These organized parties have sometimes been responsible for violent acts toward teenagers. They also create safety concerns for the entire community when these participants drive home while intoxicated.

Young adolescent girls are particularly at risk and most vulnerable at these parties, but there have also been documented fights and beatings between teenage boys and young adult men.

Young adults have also provided underage partygoers with alcohol.

The task force encourages parents to talk with their teenagers about attending this type of party. Remind your child that their personal safety is at risk.

Contact law enforcement if you know that such a party is going to take place as their involvement could prevent illegal or violent activities.
