Manager of the Idaho Department of Labor in Bonners Ferry, Dave Darrow, on Wednesday said Super One Foods is not quite ready to begin the job application process.

“No applications have been taken yet,” said Darrow.  “They indicated to me two weeks ago that as soon as they are ready they will immediately let us know.”

Darrow said part of the delay is that employees from the Sandpoint Super One may transfer to the Bonners Ferry store.

“They aren’t sure about how many of those people are going to be moved to the new store,” said Darrow.  “Some of them already live here and drive to Sandpoint.”

Many employees of Boundary Trading Co., stayed in Bonners Ferry but went to work for Super One in Sandpoint after  BTC sold to Safeway.

Darrow said after Super One human resources staff knows how many of those people will transfe, they will have a better handle on how many employees to hire locally.

Originally Super One said it will need up to 90 people to run the new store in Bonners Ferry.

Super One is expected to open this summer and Darrow said as soon as they get word he will notify the press when the jobs are posted.
