Dorothy Baker Krohmer

Dorothy Baker Krohmer, 91, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Dec. 23, 2011 in Hesperia, Calif.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2012, at 2 p.m. in the Grandview Cemetery, in Bonners Ferry, Idaho.      

Dorothy was born March 23, 1920. She was the fourth child of Emma and Robert Baker.

She went to grade school at Consolidated east of Homestead, Mont., and one year at Medical Lake High School. After high school, she worked until she married Melvin Krohmer in October 1938.

 They farmed in Sheridan County until 1950, when they moved to Froid, Mont. In 1968 they moved to Bonners Ferry.

While in Bonners Ferry, she worked at Cone's Grocery, Don's Cafe, the Bonners Ferry Restorium, and the first Hops Fields planted in District 2 and Camp 9. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, Chaplin of Eagles Auxiliary, and she volunteered for the hospital auxiliary and the Bonners Ferry Senior Center.

She loved visiting with her friends and neighbors, playing cards with her friends and grandchildren, and dancing.

She is survived by two sons, Ron (Julie), and Roy (Sharlene), four granddaughters and one grandson, seven great-grandchildren, two brothers and two sisters. She was preceded in death by her husband Melvin, infant daughter Lois, sons Bing and Harley, her parents, and three brothers.
