BONNERS FERRY —After a busy month of preparations, Conoco quietly opened on the south end of town earlier this week. Drivers noticed the newly posted gas prices and started filling up over the weekend. The convenience store opened on Tuesday.

The grand opening is a few weeks away, according to general manager Tom Paschane. In the meantime, they have everything a regular convenience store offers plus more.

They sell hamburgers, barbecue pork, chicken and sub sandwiches, along with beer and wine. Sub Express, which is similar to Subway, will open the middle of next week.

“We want to live up to the definition of a convenience store,” said Paschane. “Fast, friendly, automated service.”

They will also be selling propane at a competitive price by mid-week.

Paschane is excited about the daily and weekly offers that they’ll be offering customers. They are offering free coffee with any fill-up this winter. There will also be different weekly offers, such as a free cookie. They will also rotate through seasonal offers that compare to big box store prices, such as a quart of oil for under three dollars.

“We’re offering a major top tier quality fuel,” said Paschane, “with competitive pricing.”

The location across from Super 1 Foods is what drew Paschane to the store.

Super 1 Foods has set a good competitive standard for the community with their grocery offerings and we would like to set the same standard with fuel and convenience store business,” Paschane said,

Fuel pumps will be open 24 hours, seven days a week. Initially the convenience store will be open 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week.

Next summer, more staff will be added to the initial eight to ten employees, to allow the store to be open 24 hours.

“Stop in before the end of the year and enjoy the offers,” said Paschane.

Bonners Ferry Conoco is located on Highway 95 across from Super 1 Foods.
