Jacob’s Automotive & Repair renamed themselves to include their expanding business, Jacob’s Auto Parts, Feed & Farm.

“It’s sort of an old-style mercantile,” said Ron Husk, who owns the business with his wife, Shari. “A little bit of everything and we’re looking to get more.”

They sell auto parts, feed, grain, hay, straw and whatever they can get a reasonable price on. They are also stocking items for farms and 4-H, along with consignment items such as tack. In December, they are hoping to carry Purina and Nutrena brands.

Husk says they are buying store liquidation sales, so they never know what they’re going to get. Right now, they have numerous garden items.

“Where else can you buy auto parts with hammocks and barbecues?” said Husk.

The Husks decided to expand their business after Quality Farm & Garden went out of business. They are continually expanding in a building that isn’t big enough, says Husk.

“Helping the community out, keeping prices down where they should be and helping people stay in town,” said Husk.

Husk still operates his towing business and works in the store even though he said he is retired. His son, Thomas Husk, is taking over the store.

However when renaming the store, the Husks kept Jacob’s name, the name of their first grandson, even though they have 11 grandchildren now.

Jacob’s Auto Parts, Feed & Farm is located at 510007 Highway 95 south of Three Mile corner. Hours are Monday through Saturday, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. For information, call 267-5722.
