Tyler Keith Mastre passed away on Oct. 16, 2012, in Beaverton, Ore.

A memorial service will be held for Tyler on Tuesday, Nov. 20 at 11 a.m. at the Bonners Ferry Church of the Nazarene, Bonners Ferry, Idaho.

Tyler Keith Mastre was born on Nov. 8, 1985, in Sandpoint, Idaho, to Steve and Deanna Mastre of Bonners Ferry.

From the very beginning, his family knew he was very independent, wanting to test his own limits and the limits of his parents.

At age 4, he decided he wanted to explore his little corner of the world and took off over the hill behind his parents’ home on the north side of town. After about two hours and calling in the Bonners Ferry Fire Department and Bonners Ferry Police, Tyler was found resting under a bush. They remember one of the officers saying that “…for such a little guy, he could really hike! He crawled through 2 fences and over a lot of country to get where we found him!”

Tyler accepted Christ as his personal Savior in 1999. Pastor Craig Wykoff of Bonners Ferry Church of the Nazarene baptized him as an outward sign of an inward grace. He was active with the Bonners Ferry and the Eastborough (Colorado Springs, Colo.) Church of the Nazarene youth groups.

Bud (as his family called him) attended both Valley View and Mount Hall Elementary schools and Bonners Ferry High School until 2002 when he and his family moved to Colorado Springs, Colo. After getting his GED, Tyler attended Wyotech in Laramie, Wyo/, graduating with degrees in high performance motors and high performance suspensions.

He then went to work for a few small mechanic and body shops before going to work for Bridgestone/Firestone in Colorado Springs as a mechanic and soon became an assistant manager.

Wanting a change of scenery, Tyler moved to Beaverton, Ore., on Sept, 1, 2012, where he unexpectedly passed away.

Tyler enjoyed being with friends and family, especially his nephews and nieces. He also liked fixing cars and selling them to make a little extra cash. He also liked being outdoors any chance he could.

Tyler will be missed by his parents, Pastor Steve and Deanna Mastre of Anchor Point, Alaska; sisters, Jessica (Darrell) Brooks of Coeur d’Alene; Callie (Michael) Scalia of Colorado Springs, Colo., Leeza Mastre of Nampa; Kristina Mastre of Anchor Point; nieces, Hannah, Cadence and Alayna Brooks; nephews, Aedan and Cameron Scalia; grandparents Carl and Leona Miller of Orofino, Idaho; Carol (Mastre) Sinclair of Bonners Ferry; and Kay Sievert of Newport, Ore.; aunts, Deanna (Pat)Yaeger of Bonners Ferry and Karla Miller of Eugene, Ore.; uncles, Garry Miller, N.D.; Rick Miller of Colville, Wash.; Michael Miller of Orofino and many friends around the country.
