Shirley Clarissa Curless Linnemeyer, 94, passed away on Aug. 23, 2012, at her home in Bonners Ferry, Idaho.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Aug. 31 at 1 p.m. at the Bonners Ferry Funeral Home in Bonners Ferry with interment in the Copeland Cemetery beside her husband of 59 years, Carl.

Shirley was born on June 23, 1918, in Montezuma, Ohio, to Alva H and Laverna (Wells) Curless. She married Carl L.P. Linnemeyer on June 8, 1935. They were a familiar sight, heading to town in the pick-up truck with mom sitting close by Dad’s side.

She was a giving person and also a strong woman. She and Carl worked hard to keep their seven kids fed and cared for. That was not an easy task in those years. The strength of all the woman of that era is something to be admired.

Shirley loved being outside. She had a green thumb, whatever she planted grew, produced or flowered. She made many beautiful quilts over the years. All her family and friends will miss her and they all send her off with love.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl, and son, Larry Linnemeyer.

Survivors include: children Max (Jan) Linnemeyer of St. Maries, Idaho; Karlene (Dan) MacDonald of Bonners Ferry; Ron (Lynn) Linnemeyer of St. Maries; Art Linnemeyer of Bonners Ferry; Bonnie (Mike) Brown of Cusick, Wash., and Steve (Sherri) Linnemeyer of Baker, Ore.; and 21 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren, plus many nieces and nephews.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Senior Hospitality Center. She was a big supporter and would say it not only offers a meal but also companionship. She had many friends there that will miss her.

Family and friends are invited to sign Shirley’s book at www.bonnersferryfuneralhome.com Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Bonners Ferry Funeral Home.
