Track team competes in Deer Park Invitational
The Badger track team trekked to Deer Park for their invitational meet. Twenty-one teams gathered on a sunny day to compete.
Kyler Rice set a personal best in the high jump of 6’2 for second place and brother Kody leapt 40’2’” in the triple jump for third. Kyler was also fifth in the high hurdles at 17.7.
Carman Krichbaum threw 43’1” in the shot put for third. Freshman Davis Merrifield vaulted to fifth place in the pole vault for a personal best of ten feet. Collin Cossairt, Kyler Rice, Luke Reoch, and Jared Lysne took fifth in a time of 3:49.1 in the 4 x 400 relay.
For the girls, Sarah Shuman threw 31’9” in the shot put and 103’5” in the discus for third place in both events. Kendra Urbaniak pole vaulted 8’ for third and Gabby Munson was fourth at 8’ also. The 2 x 200 relay team of Courtney Tucker, Allyson Merrifield, Lily York, and Mackenzie Mendenhall were fifth in a time of 1:54.7.
The track team travels to Freeman on the April 13 for the annual Washington versus Idaho meet. The next home meet will be April 16 at 4 p.m.
