Richard Grantham, 76
Richard (Dick) James Grantham, 76, died on April 2, 2013.
He was born on Oct. 26, 1936, in Seattle, Wash. At the age of eight, he, his sister Gladys, and his parents James and Ruby Mae Grantham moved to farm near Bowmont, Idaho.
Dick attended Melba High School and joined the Navy at 17. He retired from the Navy as a chief warrant officer after 23 years of service.
Dick also retired from a second career as a superintendent of transportation for the Boundary County School District.
He was a private pilot and flew three planes that he built. He was a gifted carpenter and mechanic. He enjoyed traveling, reading, hunting, fishing, building, and fixing.
He is survived by his blended family of eight children, Pamela, Deborah, Christine, Philip, Anna Marie, Mindy, Jodi, and Gia; his 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; his wife Sharlene; and Valintina (married from 1957 to 1973).
His sense of humor and warm hugs will be missed by his family and many friends.
